EuroSouvenir's zero-denomination series, produced by Oberthur Fiduciaire in Rennes, occupies a peculiar regulatory niche: these notes are legal in form but carry no monetary value, sidestepping EU rules that prohibit non-central-bank euro issuance by being entirely worthless by design. Oberthur uses genuine banknote paper and security printing techniques for the run, which is why they feel authentic in hand.

Le Thot is a prehistoric art and animal park in the Dordogne, adjacent to the Lascaux site. The woolly mammoth connection is obvious given the region's Magdalenian heritage. R. Faille's signature appears as a formality — the CEO credit mimics central bank governor conventions the format deliberately parodies.
