La Poste has issued commemorative zero-euro notes since 2015, tying each release to a specific philatelic or postal event — this one marking the 77th Salon Philatélique d'Automne, Paris's long-running autumn stamp fair. The Type Iris connection is the real point of interest: the Iris stamp design, introduced in 1939 and used in France through the Occupation years, became one of the most reprinted definitive series in French postal history, printed under both Vichy and the provisional post-Liberation administration.
Oberthur Fiduciaire printed this, as they do the bulk of French commemorative zero-euro output. Collector pieces rather than circulating currency, they carry legal-looking security features — a deliberate nod to banknote convention with no monetary function whatsoever.
