| Obverse description | The obverse is dominated by multiple intaglio-style portrait vignettes of Turkish actor and comedian Kemal Sunal rendered in violet tones against a fine guilloche underprint, with his name and life dates inscribed in the upper left in Latin script. To the left, a large engraved zero numeral is flanked by the European Union flag bearing the circular arrangement of twelve stars and the series designation '2020-1', with a row of gold stars running vertically along the inner border. The lower left carries the multicolour 'EURO SOUVENIR' logotype alongside a facsimile signature of R. Faille, C.E.O., and the alphanumeric serial prefix TUAS. |

The 0 euro souvenir series, produced under license from the European Central Bank, has become a legitimate collectible market unto itself — Oberthur Fiduciaire prints them to full euro security standards, including genuine intaglio printing, UV-reactive inks, and embedded security thread. The ECB authorization matters here: these are not novelty reproductions but technically compliant banknotes issued at face value zero.
Kemal Sunal was Turkey's most beloved comic film actor, whose output across the 1970s and 1980s made him a genuine cultural institution. His death from a heart attack in June 2000, mid-flight between Istanbul and Ankara, prompted national mourning at a scale rarely seen for a performer. The 2020 issue date marks twenty years since.
