Jasovská Cave in eastern Slovakia is one of the oldest known tourist sites in Central Europe — written records of visits date to the thirteenth century, and Pauline monks from the adjacent monastery were leading guided tours long before the concept had a name. The 0 Euro souvenir format, issued under the EEAT licensing scheme and printed by Oberthur Fiduciaire on genuine banknote paper with a holographic strip, has become the dominant vehicle for this kind of regional heritage promotion since the program's expansion in the early 2010s.

Adrian Ferda designed this 2022 issue. The hologram is the same security element Oberthur supplies to several EU national series.
