Hlohovec is a town in western Slovakia whose recorded history stretches back over a millennium, though it remains largely unknown outside the region. The Euro Souvenir program, administered under license from the European Central Bank, has produced hundreds of these zero-denomination collector pieces since 2013 — each tied to a specific locality or institution that commissions the run. Oberthur Fiduciaire prints them to genuine banknote security specifications, including the characteristic feel and UV-reactive features of circulating euro notes.
