Comments

The souvenir euro format has been issued in France since around 2015, sold at tourist sites as collectibles with no legal tender status. Oberthur Fiduciaire, which prints genuine euro banknotes for the Banque de France, also handles this series — an unusual arrangement that gives these novelty pieces genuine security printing credentials, including proper intaglio work and UV-reactive features.

Chinon's royal fortress, where Joan of Arc famously identified the Dauphin in 1429, is a reliable seller in this format. The UEJE licenses the design and distributes through site gift shops.
