EuroSouvenir notes are a French-originated commercial scheme launched around 2015, sold at tourist sites across Europe as officially licensed zero-denomination collector pieces. They carry genuine security printing features — produced by Oberthur Fiduciaire, one of France's major security printers — which gives them a surface credibility that plain souvenir ephemera lacks, though they hold no legal tender status anywhere.
Festung Hohensalzburg, the fortress above Salzburg, is one of the largest fully preserved medieval castles in Europe, continuously garrisoned from its construction in 1077.
