| Obverse description | The right half of the note is occupied by a large vignette of the Lübeck Holstentor, the iconic 15th-century brick gate with its two flanking round towers, rendered in purple-violet intaglio-style print with a horse-drawn carriage and figures in the foreground. To the upper left, a large intaglio zero numeral appears against a lavender guilloche underprint, accompanied by the European Union flag in blue and gold at the upper left corner, with the series year '2020-1' printed vertically beside it. The lower centre bears the 'EURO SOUVENIR' logotype in multicolour, and a facsimile signature of R. Faille (C.E.O.) appears at the lower right alongside the serial number prefix XEML. |
