Euro Souvenir notes are a collector-market product licensed by the European Central Bank, printed to legal-specification dimensions and security standards but with zero face value and no tender status. Oberthur Fiduciaire, one of the major French security printers, produces these under strict ECB visual guidelines that prohibit any design resembling actual euro denominations — hence the prominent "0 Euro" designation.
Clovis I, the Frankish king baptized at Reims around 496 AD, is an obvious subject for a French commemorative series: his conversion to Nicene Christianity is widely cited as a founding moment in the political alignment of the Frankish kingdom with Rome. The watermark is the sole security feature — a meaningful concession to authenticity in a note that is otherwise purely collectible.
