The Čiernohronská Železnica is a narrow-gauge forestry railway in the Low Tatras, originally built in 1908 to haul timber out of the Čierny Hron valley. It survived long past the end of industrial logging and now operates as a heritage line — one of the few working forest railways left in Central Europe. The Euro Souvenir program, launched by the European Banknote Memory Organization, issues these zero-denomination notes through participating tourist attractions as licensed collectibles, printed to genuine banknote specification by Oberthur Fiduciaire to prevent easy counterfeiting of actual currency.
