TAP Air Portugal's contribution to the EuroSouvenir series is sharper than most — the airline has genuine numismatic fodder to work with. The Sud Aviation Caravelle entered TAP's fleet in 1962, making the Portuguese carrier one of the earlier European operators of the type, and the jet's association with Lisbon's modernizing airport in the 1960s is historically grounded rather than nostalgic invention.
Oberthur Fiduciaire produced the note, with engraving credited to Mordant — a name that appears across several issues in the souvenir series. These zero-denomination pieces are legal curiosities: issued under ECB framework that technically permits them as collector items, they carry no redemption value but meet genuine security printing standards.
