Obverse description
For the 750th anniversary of the birth of Amsterdam, the note features the oldest map of the city, an aerial view painted in 1538 by Jacob Cornelisz van Oostsanen`s grandson, Cornelis Anthonisz. In the upper part is the coat of arms with the personal motto of Feike de Boer, mayor of Amsterdam after the liberation of the city in 1945, meaning `heroic`, `determined`, `merciful`.
