| Obverse description | Brown intaglio note with a central guilloche medallion bearing the denomination numeral Q.0.50, flanked on either side by panoramic agricultural landscape vignettes — a banana plantation scene to the left and a coffee plantation scene to the right — framed within an ornate scrollwork border. The bank title BANCO CENTRAL DE GUATEMALA arches across the top in bold letterpress, beneath which the promise clause PAGARÁ AL PORTADOR A LA VISTA EN EFECTIVO Y A LA PAR appears in smaller type, with the denomination legend CINCUENTA CENTAVOS DE QUETZAL set in a solid panel at the lower centre. Three manuscript signatures appear at the bottom, attributed to the Inspección Bancaria, Dirección, and Gerencia, with the printer's imprint WATERLOW & SONS LIMITED, LONDRES at the foot. |
