Carcelén is a small municipality in Albacete province, and like hundreds of Spanish towns during the Civil War, its local council issued fractional emergency notes when the Republic's coin supply collapsed almost entirely in 1936–37. Hoarding, metal requisitioning, and the breakdown of normal supply chains left small transactions impossible — these consejo notes filled the gap at the hyperlocal level.
The Gari Monerris reference being absent suggests this piece either wasn't catalogued in the main corpus or remains insufficiently documented. Genuinely rare, or genuinely overlooked — the distinction matters for attribution.
