| Obverse description | Diademed head of Persephone facing right, rendered in fine Italiote style with flowing locks of hair and delicate facial features within a dotted border. A diadem is bound across the forehead, and the hair falls in loose waves behind the neck. In the left field, an ear of barley is depicted behind the head, accompanied by a monogram, serving as control marks. The portrait is set against a plain field with no exergue. |

| Reverse description | Helmeted Athena standing in three-quarter pose facing left, clad in a long chiton and aegis, holding an upright spear in her extended right hand while her left arm rests upon a large round shield set on the ground beside her. Two stars are placed to the right of the figure in the field. The ethnic legend ΛOKΡΩN appears in the field, identifying the issuing city of Lokroi Epizephyrioi. The composition is characteristic of the bold, monumental reverse types favored by South Italian Greek mints of the early third century BC. |
