Reverse description A vertically oriented axe and a bow within a bowcase (gorytos) are depicted side by side in the central field, serving as civic emblems of the city of Olbia. A monogram appears to the left of the devices, rendered in a square cartouche-like frame. The ethnic inscription OΛBIO is distributed vertically to the right of the central devices in Greek majuscule letters. The composition is bold and schematic, consistent with the utilitarian civic bronze coinage of the northern Black Sea region during the early Hellenistic period.
