| Obverse description | A bull butting vigorously to the right, rendered in robust relief with musculature carefully articulated; the animal is depicted in full stride with lowered head. In the upper field above the bull's back, a dolphin swims to the right, serving as a secondary symbol closely associated with the maritime character of Poseidonia. The composition fills the flan with confident, vigorous engraving characteristic of South Italian bronze coinage of the late Classical period. No legend is present on this face. |

| Reverse description | Poseidon, nude and striding dynamically to the right, is depicted in heroic frontal three-quarter stance, his right arm raised overhead brandishing a trident in a striking pose. A chlamys or drapery falls over both outstretched arms, lending movement and visual weight to the figure. The god's muscular anatomy is rendered in the vigorous style typical of late Classical Campanian bronze coinage. Traces of a Greek legend, likely reading ΠAIΣ or a partial ethnic of Poseidonia, are partially visible in the left field. The reverse type directly evokes the city's divine patron, Poseidon, reinforcing the civic and religious identity of the mint. |
