| Obverse description | Central field dominated by the elaborate tughra of Sultan Mahmud I, rendered in ornate calligraphic style with characteristic lobe and extension, surrounded by a wreath border. Below the tughra, the mint name 'Kostantiniye' (Constantinople) is inscribed in Arabic script, with the AH date 1143 appearing at the bottom of the field. The entire design is enclosed within a dentilated outer border. The overall execution is typical of early 18th-century Ottoman hammered coinage, with bold, deeply struck calligraphic elements filling the flan. |

| Reverse description | The reverse displays a multi-line Arabic inscription arranged in horizontal bands across the field, enclosed within a wreath and dentilated border. The legend reads 'Sultan ul-barrayn wa khaqan ul-bahrayn es-Sultan ibn es-Sultan,' proclaiming Mahmud I as sovereign of the two lands and ruler of the two seas, son of the sultan. The calligraphy is deeply struck in the naskh-derived Ottoman style, with the lines of text filling the flan in a formal, heraldic composition characteristic of Ottoman billon coinage of this period. |
