| Beschrijving voorzijde | Youthful head of Heracles facing right, crowned with the scalp of the Nemean lion, the leonine jaws resting upon the hero's head and the skin knotted beneath his chin. The facial features are rendered in the archaic-transitional style characteristic of early Macedonian coinage, with a rounded cheek, almond-shaped eye, and slightly parted lips. The lion's mane and forepaws are visible framing the portrait, with fine engraved detail despite the small module. The field is plain, with no inscription on the obverse. |
