| 裏面の説明 | A Macedonian crested helmet depicted in facing view, rendered with cheek-guards and a pronounced dome, resting on a horizontal surface. A six-pointed star appears above the helmet in the upper field, serving as a secondary symbol. The ethnic legend ΟΡΘΑΓΟΡΕΩΝ is disposed in the field around the central device, partially flanking the helmet on both sides. The engraving style is bold and schematic, typical of the civic bronze and silver issues of Thracian mints in the late fourth to early third century BC. |

Orthagoreia was a minor Thracian coastal settlement whose independent coinage output was modest and short-lived — the city itself disappears from the historical record entirely by the early third century BC, likely absorbed or destroyed during the turbulent Macedonian and later Lysimachus-era consolidations of the northern Aegean littoral. The SNG ANS reference group of three specimens suggests the type survives in very limited numbers, consistent with a small civic mint operating intermittently rather than continuously.
