Obverse description Bare laureate head of Apollo facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic style with carefully delineated wavy locks beneath the laurel wreath. The facial features are modelled in low relief with a youthful, idealized countenance. The neck is visible below, with drapery suggested at the truncation. No legend appears on the obverse field.

Reverse description Athena Itonia advancing vigorously to the right in martial stride, her right arm raised and extended to hurl a long spear, her left arm bearing a round shield. An owl stands to the left beneath the shield, a well-known symbol of divine wisdom associated with Athena. The ethnic legend ΘEΣΣA-ΛΩN is inscribed in the field, divided across the reverse, while the magistrate's name IΠΠ-OΛO appears above the spear, identifying a Thessalian League official.
