| Obverse description | Facing right bust of Emperor Constans II, depicted draped and cuirassed, wearing a diademed helmet with pendilia, the imperial regalia rendered in the late antique Byzantine style. The effigy displays a broad, stylized face with prominent features characteristic of seventh-century Byzantine coinage. A paludamentum is visible at the shoulder, and the cuirass is decorated with row of beading at the neckline. The circumferential Latin legend reads D N CONSTANTINVS PP AVG, identifying the emperor as Our Lord Constantine, Perpetual Augustus. |

| Reverse description | A bold potent cross occupies the central field, its four arms each terminating in pellets in the characteristic Byzantine tremissis style. The cross is set within a beaded inner circle, around which the abbreviated Greek legend VICTORIA AVGU is disposed. In the exergue, the mint mark CONOB denotes the Constantinople mint and guarantees the standard gold fineness. The overall composition is austere and hieratic, reflecting the shift away from classical figural reverses toward purely symbolic Christian imagery under Constans II. |
