| Beschrijving keerzijde | Facing bust rendered in the same schematic Visigothic tradition as the obverse, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The effigy displays simplified frontal facial features with a cross below the bust in the field, characteristic of Visigothic tremissis coinage of this period. The surrounding legend CORDOBA PATRICIA identifies the mint city of Córdoba, distributed in angular Latin capitals around the outer field. |

Chindasuinth seized the Visigothic throne in 642 at roughly 79 years old, having conspired against his predecessor Tulga. He moved quickly to consolidate power, executing or mutilating several dozen Visigothic nobles to neutralize opposition — a purge documented in the Historia Wambae and corroborated by later chronicle sources. Córdoba at this period was one of the principal mints of the southern Iberian peninsula under Visigothic administration, though output was modest compared to Toledo.
The CNV 409 / Pliego 539 attribution places this piece within a tightly documented series.
