| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central motif consisting of a rayed cross or wheel-type ornament enclosed within a ring of pellets or beads, creating a prominent roundel in the field. The design radiates outward with multiple spokes or cross-arms terminating at the inner beaded circle, a decorative element with clear late antique and Lombard numismatic heritage. The legend FLAVIA LUCA, preceded by a cross pattée, is disposed around the outer field in the same irregular, space-filling lettering style as the obverse, identifying the mint city of Lucca by its Roman toponym Flavia Luca. The hammered fabric produces a slightly uneven flan with corresponding weakness at the edges. The reverse composition is consistent with documented Lucca tremisses struck under Charlemagne as referenced in MIR and Friedberg catalogues. |
