Radiating from this central device are six elements arranged in a star-like pattern, interspersed with a circular legend distributed around the field. The inscription is separated into groups by pellets, rendered in the same bold, semi-barbarous Latin script as the obverse, consistent with the localised production of the Castelseprio mint during the early Carolingian period. |
