Reverse description A plain cross pattée divides the field into four quadrants, each containing a small pellet or annulet at its center, creating the characteristic cross-with-rings design associated with Manueline gold coinage. The cross is contained within a beaded inner circle. The same Latin circumscription +EMANVEL:P:R:P:ET:A:D:G encircles the design between the inner and outer rims, repeating the royal titulature. The strike is irregular, consistent with hand-hammered production, and the flan edges show typical clipping and irregularity of the period.
