Obverse description Facing head of Hermes, turned slightly to the left, rendered in fine archaic style with naturalistic modeling of the facial features. The deity wears a broad-brimmed petasus adorned along its brim with a row of pellets, its crown visible above the forehead. Wavy hair falls in thick locks to either side of the face, framing the cheeks. The portrait fills the flan almost entirely, with no surrounding legend or border visible in the field.
