Obverse description Facing bust of the nymph Arethusa turned to the left, her hair bound with an ampyx and enclosed in a sphendone, and adorned with a pendant earring. The effigy is rendered in the early Syracusan style, with fine engraving of the facial features. The design is contained within a circular incuse line border that frames the entire field.
