Obverse description Bearded portrait of the Persian satrap Pharnabazus facing right, wearing the characteristic satrapal cap secured beneath the chin and a diadem, rendered in finely engraved relief typical of late fifth- to early fourth-century Greek portraiture. The effigy exhibits naturalistic modeling of the facial features, reflecting the blending of Greek artistic conventions with Persian iconographic traditions. The encircling legend ΦAP-N-A-BA identifies the depicted dignitary, distributed in the field around the portrait.

Reverse description An ornately decorated ship's prow oriented to the left, embellished with a griffin figurehead and a prophylactic eye, symbols of protection and maritime power. Two dolphins are depicted plunging downward, one before and one behind the prow, adding dynamic movement to the composition. Below the prow, a tunny fish swims to the left, a recurring emblem associated with the city of Kyzikos and its maritime identity. The entire design is contained within a shallow incuse circle, characteristic of the coinage of Kyzikos during this period.
