| Beschrijving voorzijde | Diademed head of the deified Alexander the Great facing right, depicted with the ram's horn of Ammon curling behind his ear, a divine attribute identifying him with Zeus-Ammon. The hair is rendered in voluminous, flowing locks swept back from the forehead in characteristic Hellenistic style, falling in thick waves to the neck. The portraiture is of high artistic quality, displaying the idealized yet individualized features associated with posthumous representations of Alexander on the coinage of his Successors.
