| Obverse description | Diademed head of the deified Alexander the Great facing right, his wild, flowing locks rendered with characteristic Hellenistic vigour, the diadem tied at the back with trailing ends visible above the neck. The ram's horn of Ammon curls behind the ear, alluding to Alexander's divine association with Zeus-Ammon following his visit to the oracle at Siwa. The portrait is struck in high relief with exceptional plasticity, exhibiting the idealised yet powerful physiognomy standard to the Lysimachean coinage series. A dotted border frames the field. |

| Reverse description | Athena Nikephoros enthroned to the left, wearing helmet and aegis, her right hand extending forward to present a Nike bearing a wreath, and her left arm resting upon a large round shield set against her side. A long transverse spear leans diagonally into the background behind the throne. The royal legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ is disposed in two lines flanking the figure, reading 'of King Lysimachus.' A monogram enclosed within a circle appears in the inner left field, serving as a mint control mark characteristic of the Magnesia ad Sipylum issue. |
