| Description de l’avers | Diademed head of the deified Alexander the Great facing right, portrayed with the ram's horn of Zeus Ammon curling above his ear, a hallmark of his divine status. The hair is rendered in elaborate, flowing locks radiating outward from the diadem, executed in the fine Hellenistic style characteristic of Lysimachos' coinage. The portrait fills the flan with a bold, high-relief effigy that emphasizes the idealized, heroic physiognomy of Alexander. No legend appears on the obverse, the portrait alone serving as the royal and divine identifier. |
