The hair is rendered in elaborate, flowing locks radiating outward from the diadem, executed in the fine Hellenistic style characteristic of Lysimachos' coinage. The portrait fills the flan with a bold, high-relief effigy that emphasizes the idealized, heroic physiognomy of Alexander. No legend appears on the obverse, the portrait alone serving as the royal and divine identifier. |
