Athena's left arm rests upon a large round shield decorated with a lion's head boss in relief. A monogram appears in the inner left field, serving as a mint control mark. Beneath the throne a club is placed as an additional control symbol, while a grain ear occupies the exergue. The reverse legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ, meaning 'of King Lysimachus,' is inscribed in two lines flanking the enthroned figure. |
