| Obverse description | Diademed head of the deified Alexander III (the Great) facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with flowing, voluminous hair. The small horn of Ammon, symbol of divine descent, curls subtly above the right ear, asserting the subject's divine status. The portraiture displays the characteristic idealized features associated with court engravers of the Lysimachean tradition, with deeply modeled hair locks radiating from the crown. The entire design is contained within a plain inner border of raised dots. |

| Reverse description | Athena Nikephoros seated left upon a throne, her right hand extended to receive Nike, the goddess of victory, who crowns the royal legend above. Athena's left arm rests upon a large round shield decorated with a lion's head boss in relief. A monogram appears in the inner left field, serving as a mint control mark. Beneath the throne a club is placed as an additional control symbol, while a grain ear occupies the exergue. The reverse legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ, meaning 'of King Lysimachus,' is inscribed in two lines flanking the enthroned figure. |
