| Obverse description | Diademed head of the deified Alexander the Great facing right, his flowing hair rendered in bold, deeply cut curls characteristic of the Lysimachean portrait tradition. A small but clearly articulated horn of Ammon curves above the right ear, asserting Alexander's divine status as son of Zeus-Ammon. The portraiture is of high artistic quality, with fine facial modeling and a pronounced diadem secured across the forehead. A dotted border frames the entire design field. |
