| Reverse description | Athena Nikephoros seated left on a throne, wearing a crested helmet and draped in a chiton and himation, holding a small winged Nike in her extended right hand and a long spear in her left, with a large round shield ornamented with a lion-head device resting against the throne at her side. To the left field, the royal legend ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ runs vertically downward, and to the right, ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ descends vertically, together reading 'of King Lysimachus.' A small monogram appears in the left field below Nike, serving as a mint or magistrate control mark. The composition follows the canonical Lysimachean reverse type closely derived from the coinage of Lysimachus as king. |
