| Reverse description | Athena Nikephoros seated three-quarters left on a throne without back, wearing a crested Attic helmet, chiton, and aegis, holding a small Nike on her outstretched right hand and resting her left arm on a large round shield decorated with a lion's head boss; a spear leans against her left shoulder. In the right field, the vertical legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ runs downward, with ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ reading upward in the left field, together identifying the issuer as King Lysimachus. A monogram appears in the exergue. The composition follows the canonical Lysimachean reverse type derived from Macedonian coinage traditions. |
