| Descrizione del dritto | Diademed head of the deified Alexander III the Great facing right, rendered in finely detailed high relief with characteristically tousled locks of hair falling in thick, naturalistic waves. A small horn of Ammon curls subtly above the right ear, signifying Alexander's divine association with the Egyptian god Zeus-Ammon. The facial features are idealized in the Hellenistic tradition, with a strong profile, slightly parted lips, and an upward gaze. A plain diadem binds the hair above the forehead. The field is smooth and unlettered. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | Athena Nikephoros seated left upon a throne, depicted in flowing drapery with a crested helmet. Her left arm rests upon a large round shield decorated with a gorgoneion, and a long spear is propped diagonally behind her. In her extended right hand she holds a small Nike, the goddess of victory, who faces left. The Greek legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ runs along the upper and right fields, identifying the issuing king Lysimachus. A wreath appears in the outer left field, and the letter Σ (sigma) is placed in the exergue as a mint or control mark. |
