Obverse description Diademed head of Alexander the Great facing right, rendered in the idealized Hellenistic portrait tradition, with the distinctive horn of Ammon curling above and behind his right ear, alluding to his divine descent from Zeus-Ammon. The diadem is depicted with fine ribbon ties visible at the neck. The portrait exhibits the characteristic upward gaze and slightly parted lips associated with Alexander iconography as propagated by Lysimachos on his coinage. The flan is of standard hammered fabric with naturalistic modeling of the facial features.
