The hair is rendered in richly modelled, flowing locks swept back from the forehead and cascading behind the neck in the Hellenistic portrait tradition. The facial features are sharply delineated with a strong profile, prominent nose, and short beard, reflecting the idealized yet individualistic portraiture characteristic of early Hellenistic royal coinage. No legend appears on the obverse; the field is plain. |

He holds a long trident upright in his right hand, while his left arm is outstretched for balance. In the left field, a royal monogram appears above a club, the latter being a symbol associated with the Antigonid dynasty. The reverse legend ΔΗΜΗΤΡΙΟΥ ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ (of King Demetrius) is disposed in the field, identifying the issuing authority in Greek script. |
