| Beschrijving keerzijde | Poseidon, fully nude, stands in three-quarter pose facing left, his right foot raised and planted upon a rocky outcrop in a dynamic contrapposto stance. In his raised left hand he holds a long trident, while his right hand rests upon his right thigh. The god's muscular figure is rendered in the vigorous Hellenistic style characteristic of the Demetrian coinage series. The legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΔΗΜΗΤΡΙΟΥ runs in the field, with the control mark ΔΙ to the outer right and a star to the outer left. |
