The hair is elaborately worked in thick, flowing waves swept back from the face, with individual locks finely engraved. The portrait is set within a plain inner field, surrounded by a beaded border near the coin's edge. The modelling is of exceptional quality, characteristic of the accomplished die-cutters active at the Amphipolis mint in the early third century BC. |
