Obverse description Diademed and draped bust of Demetrios II Nikator facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic portraiture style. The diadem is tied with flowing ends visible behind the head, and the hair is rendered in wavy, layered locks swept back from the forehead. The portrait exhibits the idealized yet individualized characteristics typical of late Seleucid royal coinage, with well-defined facial features including a prominent nose and firm jaw. The truncation of the neck is visible at the lower field, and the flan shows the slightly irregular edge characteristic of hammered silver coinage from this period.
