Obverse description Facing three-quarter bust of Helios, the sun god, rendered in high relief with characteristically voluminous, radiating curls framing the youthful face. The effigy is depicted in a slightly right-facing three-quarter view, with prominent rays of the solar crown rising from the head. The sculptural modeling of the hair and facial features exemplifies the fine Hellenistic engraving tradition of the Rhodian mint. The field is plain, with no legend, the design filling the flan to its edges.
