Obverse description Facing three-quarter bust of Helios, rendered in high relief, with flowing wavy hair radiating outward from the crown of the head to form a distinctive solar nimbus of pointed rays. The effigy is executed in the Hellenistic style characteristic of Rhodian coinage, with finely detailed facial features, slightly parted lips, and a subtly turned gaze toward the right. The field is smooth and unlettered, with no exergue line. The overall composition conveys the dynamic, sculptural quality associated with the great Rhodian die-cutters of the early second century BC.
