Reverse description A fully open rose in bloom, rendered frontally with broad overlapping petals, occupies the center of the field and serves as the civic emblem of Rhodes. A rose bud on a stem curves to the right. To the left of the rose a skyphos (drinking cup) is depicted, and to the right a trident or spearhead symbol appears. In the lower field, the ethnic letters P and O flank the stem of the rose. The magistrate's name ΑΕΤΙΩΝ is inscribed in Greek letters across the upper field, and the entire design is enclosed within a beaded border.
