| Popis líce | Facing head of Hermes rendered in fine archaic-to-classical transitional style, depicted full-face at center of the flan with curling locks of hair framing the face on either side. The deity wears a broad petasos (traveler's hat) adorned with a beaded border along its brim, characteristic of Ainean coinage of this period. The facial features are modeled with considerable naturalistic skill, with well-defined eyes, a straight nose, and slightly parted lips. The portrait fills the flan almost entirely, with no inscription on the obverse, a hallmark of Ainos tetradrachms. |
