Beneath the hare, an olive spray with leaves extends across the lower field. The ethnic legend MESS-ΑΝΟΙΑΝ is arranged around the hare in two segments, with MESS inscribed below right and ΑΝΟΙΑΝ arching above and to the left, all within a dotted border. The reverse type, combining the hare and olive branch, is emblematic of the city of Messana and its local agricultural and civic identity. |
