| 正面描述 | Slow quadriga advancing right, driven by a charioteer who holds the kentron in his right hand and gathers the reins in both hands; above, Nike flies right and extends an open wreath in both hands to crown the horses. The composition is rendered in the severe yet dynamic style characteristic of Syracusan coinage of the second quarter of the fifth century BC, with the horses depicted in measured, deliberate stride. The exergue is plain beneath the ground line. |

| 背面描述 | Facing three-quarter right is the head of the nymph Arethousa, depicted in high relief and turned to the right, wearing a broad tainia binding her hair, a pendant earring, and a necklace. The legend ΣΥΡΑΚΟΣΙΟΝ runs vertically to the right of the portrait in incuse Greek characters. Four dolphins, symbols of the island spring sacred to Arethousa, are arranged around the field in a border-like disposition, punctuating the composition in the customary Syracusan manner. The portraiture reflects the refined Archaic-to-Early Classical transitional style associated with the Deinomenid-era Syracusan mint. |
